Happy Dance of WLS Joy
4/15/05 02:24 pmYesterday we went to the Super Wal-Mart (one of my Big Expeditions! Whee!) and I decided to get some shorts, since I had sent all my Incredibly Huge Shorts to the thrift store several months ago when I cleaned out the closet. I've been comfortably wearing 2X pants for a while now, and they're getting a tad baggy, so I ventured into the realm of 1X -- that's size 16-18 for those keeping score in the US, or size 18 in the UK. The shorts I picked out are 16W, what used to be 16 1/2 here. With much trepidation, I took them home. I figured if they didn't fit, I could always wait until they did.
Put them on AND THEY'RE ALMOST TOO DAMN BIG!!!! Waist fits very comfortably with very little stretching, legs fit a little loose. It's been over 30 years since I fit in anything with a "16" in the size!! I haven't taken my measurements, but I must have lost inches all over during this 2 month slow-down in weight loss.
I feel so tiny and petite! I know I'm really not (yet) but I'm one helluva lot smaller and healthier than I used to be. Tits haven't really gone down much (thankfully) so I'm still in a larger size in tops. Women in my family tend to big tops, skinny little birdy leg bottoms. Don't want to be topheavy though, so I do hope the top gets smaller. I'm wearing men's 2X t-shirts but that's because they're baggy, and I've still got the hide in baggy clothes mentality--most likely I could wear mens 1X or XL shirts.
