Week 5 of C25K, a little late...

Well, I didn't do too great last week. I did my walk like usual Monday, then Wednesday we all know what happened, so I didn't have any interest in doing anything. I got my second walk in Thursday, but cut it short because my heart just wasn't in it. Meant to get a third one in Friday, but the asses in the duplex next door had been flushing fuckin' baby wipes down the toilet, for months, and it was backing up the sewer line for both my house and the duplex.
Had the plumbers out, they ran a snake in and pulled out clumps of baby wipes, then discovered that the common sewer line to the street is broken. Happily, it's on the duplex' property, right next to their water meter, so they have to fix it. Or rather, their landlord has to fix it. The plumbers left the cap off one of the clean-out ports so that it wouldn't back up, but would flood their yard. Yay plumbers. That meant we could flush, shower, and wash clothes without shit and piss water backing up into our sinks and tubs.
So we all showered quickly on Friday, which meant I couldn't walk since we were going to Mike's mother's 80th birthday party on Saturday. By the time we got back from that, I was too worn out from making nice-nice to a bunch of conservative rednecks to walk, then Sunday I felt like crap so didn't walk.
So today I just continued the same routine of 2 circuits of 1 1/2 min jog, 1 1/2 min walk, 3 min jog, 3 min walk. I did increase my speed to 3.4 mph for the short jogs, and for the extra 1 min jog at the end of the last circuit. Don't know if I'll be ready to move on to 5 min jogs next week, but we'll see. It's not like I'm aiming for a race or anything, just better health.
I think Mike is feeling a bit guilty that I'm on the treadmill 30 min every other day, doing 1.37 miles, so he's been getting on it too. So far he's able to do about half a mile at 3 mph, so that's pretty good for someone who hasn't done anything for years. I've told him about the C25K program, but I don't think he's looked at it... right now I think it's great he's able to go half a mile.
And that's all for now.
