Did the 90 sec jog/90 sec walk, 3 min jog/3 min walk this week. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't impossible. By the end of the week, I was doing both 90 sec jogs at 3.2 mph, and 2 min of the 3 min jog at 3.2 mph. All walks were at 2.7 mph, which is not too tough.
However, I can tell I'm not ready to move to the next step, which is 3 min jog, 90 sec walk, 5 min jog, 2.5 min walk, 3 min jog, 90 sec walk, 5 min jog. So I'll be repeating this week, and will continue to do so until I feel I can graduate to a 5 min jog. I may not ever get there, but that's okay. I'm doing this for health, not to run a marathon or anything.
I think I'm going to hold my rate at 2.7 mph for walking, and 3.2 mph for jogging. If and when I get to jogging for 30 min straight, then I'll worry about increasing my rate.
We'll see.
