....and they ain't great.
HbA1c is 6.8, on 500 mg metformin twice a day. Guess I need to increase that, but I'm going to wait a bit before doing so. Just to see if it'll come down some more.
Fasting glucose was 132, again, sucks to be me.
Albumin was low at 3.4 (just barely low, the cutoff is 3.5) and globulin was high at 4.3 (upper end is 3.9), A/G ratio was 0.8, low end of normal is 1.4. Probably low because of the RNY, which produces chronic malnutrition.
But the cholesterol was totally screwed up.
Total 235 last time 195
LDL 161 last time 110
HDL 33 last time 29
Trig 205 last time 284
Nothing improved on the Lovaza except trigs and HDL, and the total and LDL got worse. Now we're trying 2.5 mg Crestor every other day -- my doctor went to a conference recently where they had seen good results doing this with patients who have muscle pain on statins, which is why I refuse to take a statin. I agreed to try this, unless my large muscles start to ache, then it's off. I think I'll go back to using the Cholest-Off too -- I had quit while on the Lovaza to see what happened, and apparently it was actually reducing the total and trigs.
She'll check the cholesterol and A1c numbers again in about 6 weeks. So we'll see what happens there. Luckily everything is cheap, so it's not a huge deal monetarily. It's just a pain to be on pills again for stuff the weight loss surgery was supposed to fuckin' fix.
