Kidney Update

wobblerlorriWent to doctor today, a very nice locum for my regular doc who is out on maternity leave. Peed in a cup, offered it to the nurse with a cheerful comment to enjoy the hot coffee (it was the same color as coffee). Doc did a good checkup, I'm running a low grade fever, have pain all in the left side of my back, having chills at night. Seems I have a 4 mm stone in the lower quadrant of my left kidney.
So he put me on Levaquin, sent the urine off for a culture, and I have an appointment with a urologist on July 3. I might end up with lithotripsy, might end up with the same procedure![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
jblaque had. We Shall See. Meanwhile I'm taking the powerful antibiotic with food, taking an iron pill so I don't get anemic, taking Tylenol for the pain, and carrying on with life. I guess I'm either lucky or I have a ridiculously high pain tolerance -- while it's not particularly comfortable, I haven't had the screaming sort of pain from this damn thing.
Hell, I have beans to pick, tomatoes to mulch, and corn will be coming in soon! I don't have time for no steenking keedney stoness!
