Dilemma

I need to see my surgeon for some questions I'm having, primarily why my pouch is so noisy and gurgly, why it seems to take forever to empty, and why I have so much gas now. I also have either a hernia at the top of my incision or a collection of fluid there. To top it all off, I take generic Pepcid 3 times a day with every meal; otherwise I have heartburn that would kill a moose.

I'm afraid I have a stricture, ulcers, a leak, a hernia, or the pockets that were full of fluid before have filled again, only this time they have nowhere to drain since my incision is completely healed.

The trouble is I'm having my medical records reviewed by an attorney because I have bilateral vestibulopathy due to gentamicin -- as a result I feel sort of strange getting a checkup from a doctor I'm getting ready to bring suit against for a needless complication. He doesn't know I'm talking to an attorney yet, but I do. Also, I walk with canes now, and he's going to want to know why I'm walking with canes. I don't know if I can be civil about it, because the vestibulopathy has caused me to have to sell all my horses (I used to breed Appaloosas), quit school, can't work, can't drive, and have very little energy.

I'm planning to see my PCP Monday, but I know that I really should see the surgeon. I just don't know about seeing him, I guess partly because of the lawsuit but also because I've pretty much lost faith in him. When I was in the hospital with the infection Mike was asking our PCP for input and she's the one who suggested most of the treatment I got that worked.

Any suggestions?
