Writer's Block: Father nature

I had fun times with Daddy, but he was a mean drunk, and every good time was overshadowed with low dread that he would pick a major fight with Mama, making her cry, or that he would get drunk and either get embarrassingly maudlin or get cranky, pick a major fight with Mama, and the good time would end.

I wasn't really around Granddaddy that much until I was grown, but he was an annoying old know-it-all. He was also pussy-whipped by Grandmama, and she was mean. Granddaddy wouldn't interfere if she was raising hell.

So. Sorry to be a buzz-kill on Father's Day, but they aren't all gems out there, ya know.

The children are being educated

Well, the kittens are at the West Georgia Spay/Neuter Clinic being spay/neutered. Thanks to the good folks at SPOT Atlanta, we aren't having to pay for it at all. We're also going to get their mama Lisa and older sister Tiger Lily spayed -- Tiger goes tomorrow, and Lisa the next day.

Now if Champ (the suspected paternal unit) would show up regularly so we could get him educated too, we'd have a nice non-breeding population of cats, which would prevent new cats from showing up...

Of course the ideal situation would be to find homes for all of them, but the reality is we most likely won't. So they're all going to be fixed, and rabies shots for everyone.
