Right now Beau and Jack are taking turns chasing each other through the house... THUNDERthunderthunderthunder... it's hilarious to see first this chunky little black and white cat come galloping into the bedroom with a slim brown rocket after her, they dart under the bed, then it's a "roop roop!" and a "brrt!" and the brown rocket zips out and the black comet zooms after...

Only trouble is Jacky is a bit stout because her semi-geezer playmates haven't been able to keep up with her, so Beau is still ready to chase but she's kind of tired out -- that will undoubtedly change after a week or so at DreamBeau's Fitness Camp!

Beau almost made me cry laughing this evening -- Bill was in Beau's room, playing with his feather toy, and Beau was lurking behind the cat sand jug, watching. I thought Beau was wanting to play too, so I dangled the feather for him, but he just dodged his head around it -- he was watching Bill. So I went back to feathering Bill.

All of a sudden Beau gave a "brrt!" then arced gracefully over the jug, touched down lightly on Bill's back twice, then galloped off with his tail crooked up over his back. Bill still doesn't know what happened, and I literally rolled on the floor laughing.

Beau is now sampling all the different cat sleeping places around here -- we have one of those cheap microfleece blankets on a bookcase I built, and he's tried that out; he's tried out Mike's bed and kept Bill company; he's checked out my bed, especially up in the corner beside the pillows; and of course he's already staked a claim on the blue recliner. I'm leaving his screen door open all the time now, except when he's eating -- none of the others need to eat his food, and he's such a gentleman that he won't guard it.

Every evening he insists on me sitting on the floor in his room so he can get in my lap and have a quick nap -- I've been working with him to understand he can get in my lap anywhere, by carrying him into the living room and sitting on the couch, and taking him to my computer chair. He stayed on my lap in the computer chair for quite a while, and Maggie didn't mind, but he's still not sure about the living room. Altho he did stroll by and saw me on the couch, I said "Hey, BeauBeau", and he looked like he was thinking about jumping up, but then he had something else to do.

Every day is such fun with him around!
