I'm sort of half-watching the Clinton confirmation hearings on MSNBC, and I'm struck by something rather irritating -- why is it taking the senators on the Board of Inquisition 15 minutes or more to ask a simple question? I just watched Barbara Boxer take at least 20 minutes to ask what Sen. Clinton would do about crimes against women in the global community, complete with pictures and heart-tugging commentary. Clinton answered neatly and succinctly that it would be a primary concern of hers.

All her questions so far are neat and succinct. Some may be lengthy, but she's covering several points in her answer, unlike the Inquisitors, who are just covering one fucking point.

Goddammit, it's pissing me off. They're sitting up there wasting the taxpayer's money having these confirmation hearings, making huge Hollywood productions out of their questions. If it were me in Hillary's seat, I'd have to say something along the lines of cut to the chase, people, just ask me your question and strip off the extraneous crap you've added for the sake of the media.

Of course, then I wouldn't get confirmed because I didn't show "proper respect" to the Inquisitors, but then I'll never be sitting there anyway...
