Rocking Horse Head
12/29/05 11:23 pmHere is the new rocking horse head I've carved. He doesn't have his eyes yet, but I (badly) Photoshopped a glass eye in so you can get an idea of what he'll look like with his eye. It won't be that big. He's going to be a black and white pinto.
( Horse head pictures )
This one is done in a carousel horse style, he (he's a stallion, but he hasn't named himself yet) has his hind legs behind him like a normal rocking horse, but his front legs are done so one is tucked up and the other is thrust forward and down, like a charger. I have the legs glued up to the lower body block, tomorrow I'll glue the head to the upper body block, work on the legs a little, and glue up the whole thing tomorrow evening.
It's really amazing how naturally I've taken to carving, something I've never done in my life. It's almost like I already know how, I just have to remember. It's stuff like this that makes me believe in reincarnation...
