Really, no foolin'. It's up my little garret room, but I don't have pics because I can't get Mike up there to take some damn pictures of it! And it's gorgeous. I stained it with oil-based stain in Golden Oak, then put two coats of Antique Maple stain + poly over it, then rubbed it out to a satin finish. Supposedly the poly stain was already satin, but you could have fooled me, looked pretty gloss to me. Shellacked the runners in the carcase, then the runners and sides of the drawers, finishing with a coat of Briwax so the drawers don't stick anymore. The crowning touch is replacement hardware -- I didn't want to fool with stripping the little wooden knobs, and didn't want to put wooden knobs back on. So I got some lovely understated antique brass knobs, which are perfect.
I've put my TV and cable box on the top (so I don't pile a bunch of shit on it), and I'm slowly putting my clothes away. Yes, I'm one of those slackers that will cheerfully wear the clothes in the clean clothes basket rather than putting them away.
I promise, pictures tomorrow. I may even be brave and let Mike take some pics of me, which I'll (gulp) post along with before surgery pics. Today I put on one of Mike's shirts and it's too big... it's a men's Large. I'm threatening to try on a pair of his jeans!
Enough with me, nighty night.
