wobblerlorriWent to Le Mart du Wal today, ostensibly to get some spray on acrylic for a set of blocks I've made for a grand-niece, and took a side trip into the clothing dept. My best sister-friend is coming to visit tomorrow, and I wanted something a little nicer to wear than my usual Hanes T-shirt and jeans uniform. Something that sort of appealed to my newly emerging girly side (lemme tell ya, it's hard to feel very girly when you weigh more than 300 lbs... WAY more).
So I found this absolutely adorable rayon top, purple floral with a gorgeous dark pink undertunic. I tried on the sleeve (because that's always been my hardest to fit area, my upper arms) and IT FIT!! I got it in an 18!!!! Here 'tis:
Isn't it just the girliest thing you've ever seen? I swear, next I'll be looking at MAKE-UP...
To wear with it I got some dark purple stretch pants (cotton knit), and THOSE are -- drumroll please -- SIZE 12/14!!! I have NEVER IN MY LIFE worn a 12/14 ANYTHING!!! It was straight from 6XX in kid's sizes to 16 1/2 and up.... I can't believe 11 months ago I was barely fitting into 4X tops and 3X bottoms.
I also scored some size 18 jeans (NOT 18W, real honest-to-God size 18) and a pair of sleep pants in size 12/14. They're pink Eeyore pants -- I hate pink, but the blue and purple ones were too small (for now!!)
Oh yeah, we got the spray on acrylic, but it's raining and you can't use it if the humidity is over 50%, you'll get this nasty foggy yech in it called "bloom".
But yay for me, I got new clothes and didn't have to settle for the dowdy giant stuff!!! (Insert happy girly girl dance here.) Hubby hasn't seen the entire ensemble -- it'll be interesting to see what he thinks. He's never seen me dressed in anything even remotely form-fitting.
