Day 3 Update on DB, and a bonus WTF

Hope y'all aren't getting tired of me blathering on about my beautiful boy... :D And if you are, it's my damn blog, and I'll blog about wedgie frootbat meezers if I want to.
He is remarkably calmer since I put the lavender diffuser in his room, I don't know if it's the lavender or if he's settling in. Anyway, he didn't pick at the door much yesterday. He did give some yowls, but if I didn't want yowls, I wouldn't have adopted a Siamese, now would I! He was actually doing calling yowls, with the little brrrrr at the beginning. I also left the light on in there; tonight I'll turn out the light and just use the nightlight.
Today he got to come out and explore a little -- he followed me to the door after breakfast and playtime, and said he'd like to come too, so I shut the doors to the other two bedrooms (making sure the other cats were in them!) and let him come out. He explored the bathroom, the hall, and ventured into the living room, but just under a table. He ran back to his room several times, but that's okay. At his rate, in his own time.
I just now offered him another opportunity to explore, but he wanted playtime, pettins, and some more of that wonderful DRY FOOD I'm switching him to! I'm giving him Friskies Growing Years dry cat food, it's a kitten chow with higher protein and a higher calorie count, so he can put on a little weight. I'm also giving him gooshy food twice a day and a gooshy snack at bedtime.
He's really loving that Growing Years -- I mixed some into the dry food his foster sent home with him this morning, and he had picked out all the GY and left the Whiskas! Just now we were finishing up play 'n' pettins, and he went and sat next to the food bowl and said "brrrrmaowl". Then looked at the bowl, then at me, and said it again.
I can take a hint; I got the GY out and put some in his bowl, and mixed it up. He tucked right in. I guess "brrrrmaowl" means "I'd like some tasty dry food, please!"
He's eating like a champ, drinking water, using his sand box, and grooming. He's also decided that when he wants pettins he wants PETTINS!! He'll start off in his cube, and purr and curl, then he comes out with his tail high, and rub up against me, lying next to my legs, just purring and enjoying strokes and belly rubs. He even got Happy Tail today!
Oh, and he's covering his poo just fine! Brownie used to use the box, then leap out and clean up, then she'd come back and cover; I think DreamBeau is doing the same thing. Haven't found any "naked gifts" yet.
Mike just went in to have a visit with him. I told him to sit on the floor and just talk to him and wave the feathers around. I'm going to have Mike feed him supper tonight, too -- I don't want him to be afraid of Mike or Patrick, and food is the best key at the beginning.
We're having so much fun!
And the bonus WTF: I got a sample pack of tampons in the mail today. I haven't had a period since 1995, when I had the uterus snatched out.
