My nasty nest
Let Crystal the Deaf White Cat's glowing lasers scan your credentials as you enter...
Since I've been sick I haven't given a shit about vacuuming or cleaning up the barf stains on the carpet, so y'all will just have to deal with it...
When you first walk in, immediately to your left is the Comfort Station for Maggie, since Crystal TDWC keeps her restricted to my bedroom. Of course, everyone else uses it too... I scoop it twice a day, otherwise I couldn't come in here, much less sleep in here...
Look to your right, and there's the dresser I refinished with the cable box and a pile of crap. The bowl is for Maggie's daily dose of Laxatone, otherwise known as "poo paste" or "shit salve". Since she's been having that every morning, she hardly hurks... much.
If you stand with your back to the dresser, you get a long shot of the corner of my bed, the bedside stand which is just a cheap plastic drawer unit from Wal-Mart, my lamp, my chair, and of course, the lovely and svelte-er Maggie Snax...
This is the slant pillow that has prevented my chronic acid reflux. I love this pillow.

These are the steps Mike built when Bill the Fat Grey Cat tore his ACL a year ago and couldn't jump up on the bed anymore. He can jump fine now, but they're all lazy cats, so they use the steps anyway.
This is the view from my window. That's our front yard. I need to clean the windows too.

My cute little Samsung ML-2010 laser printer on yet another cheap plastic Wal-Mart drawer unit. See the jar of Citrus Magic? I make my own from borax and 2 tablespoons of orange oil. Works just as well for about 1/3 the cost. I'm also especially proud of the little USB 2.0 hub hanging there on the side of the desk, connected to a USB 2.0 card in the computer. Much faster transfer rates! All my USB devices are connected to it.
I really need to dust, too. Feh.
I keep the cat snacks in the bottom drawer of the printer "stand". Everyone gets snacks at bedtime.
I keep MSNBC on all the time, to keep Maggie company when I'm not the 'puter. This is what I see when I decide to watch it for a minute, usually when Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow are on. Chris Mathews tends to get on my nerves a bit, so I usually do jigsaw puzzles on the computer when he's on.
And that's where I hang out when I'm on the computer, which is probably 60% of the day during the winter, less during the summer. I promise, the rest of the house isn't as icky looking...
