Jack Has A Home...

wobblerlorri... and it's WITH US!!!! Push came to shove today when Patrick called, wanting to know if we were still giving away Jack. Seems someone at his work is interested. I hemmed and hawed, said "I don't know", and told him to wait until tomorrow so I could talk to Mike.
So I asked Mike if we were going to keep him. He hemmed and hawed, said "I don't know", then observed "Well, he is a good little cat..." So I left it alone for a while, then asked just before Patrick got home. We agreed that, with Brownie doing okay but not great (her shots aren't working as well as they were, and she's not eating as well), she probably doesn't have a huge long time, so Jack may as well be working his way up from the minors.
Maggie and Jack were curled up in the chair today, and Maggie gave his head a good washing. Of course she has to keep up appearances, so she hissed and whacked at him when I came in here. And Crystal the Deaf White Cat has been prowling around calling like a mama cat calls kittens, even tho she's never had kittens -- I think she's calling Jack. Bill is scarpering around like a young cat, teasing Jackie into chasing him. Brownie's the only hold-out, altho it's pretty funny to see Jack bouncing along behind her trying to get her to play. But then Brownie's always been pretty stodgy.
