Beau is at the vet...
3/11/10 04:01 pm... getting his teeth cleaned. They called about 30 min ago, he'd just started to wake up and was doing well. Of course he's going to hate me again, so it'll be another week before we're back to where we were last night...

Naturally that's the first time he's ventured into the living room and gotten up on the couch and behind my legs...
But hopefully he'll come around quicker this time. Poor guy, recently every time he's been put in a carrier it's been some horrible life-changing thing. I'm hoping eventually he'll understand that he gets to come HOME every time...
I've started doing sellable crafts for the Siamese Cat Rescue Center, which is how they make most of their money. I've gotten a haul of discount fleece from Joann's Fabrics, and some really nice stuff from a place called syfabrics.com, which sells remnants in 5 lb boxes, prints and solids. I got the remnants the other day, and the Joann's stuff yesterday. So using some of the solids, I made a purr pad, which is a liner you put in the carrier for the cat to lay on, and use everyday for the same thing, so they'll have a nice familiar smell around them during a stressful trip.
They're generally made with 6 solid squares, but being an over-achieving Gemini Aspie, I wasn't satisfied with just 6 boring old blocks... oh no. I made pieced quilt blocks, then sewed those together for the top! This pattern is called Pinwheel...

Here it is in a different orientation...
