This is reposted with permission from the Siamese Internet Cat Club forum -- I'd appreciate it if you could help out, even just a little. They don't only take in Siamese from kill shelters, hoarders, and the usual places, they also take in non-meezers (aka "honorary Siamese"). The cats are evaluated, neutered as required, fostered for socialization, and rehomed to carefully screened applicants. If they aren't suitable to be pets, they're neutered and placed in The Sanctuary, where they will live out their lives. NONE are euthanized unless there is an incurable health situation. They're great people, doing great things for displaced and homeless kitties... I'd appreciate it if you can spare a dollar to help them out.

URGENT MESSAGE! We are trying to accomplish 2 more deferred maintenance projects. When we finish the appraiser will sign off and Mercantile Mortgage will fund our refi! Then we won't lose our facility because our mortgage holder will not call our note - we had guaranteed to Refi and take him out - 3 years ago now! It has been a long long road to approval - now all we need is funding for our deferred maint projects:
PROJECT ONE: Refurbish floor in converted Breezeway cat room (got ests from $2400 to $1105). For $1105 we can seal, fill, cover and complete with Thundershield - a concrete, silicone and rubber poured floor! Help us raise $1105 for that one! Update: Wow we hit the numbers for the Floor - got $1275 needed $1105 - now we are after the $5000 plus for the door frames, jambs, etc. PLEASE HELP!
PROJECT TWO: Replace door frames, door jambs, window frames, mirror frames all of wood (this is a log home) that have been scratched for 10 years - some are nearly non-exist! (got ests from $9800 down to $3900). A cat friendly contractor will donate 30% of their labor to get us under the $4000 common grant ceiling - but most small grants for these things are $2000! Help us raise funds for the BIG one!
WHAT ARE YOU ACCOMPLISHING BY HELPING OUR RESCUE? Saving the lives of over 400 cats and kittens by saving their facility and HQ. Deducting any amount you donate to the limit of the tax law! We are a 501c3 charity.
QUOTATION from current mortgage holder follows: (He is a great fellow; just needs his capital out now we are so late - lots of personal reasons on his plate!)
QUOTE:
Here's a proposition for you: Any money you can raise from private individuals (not grants) specifically for the building improvements between now and midnight, 25 December will be MATCHED by us. So keep track and let us know. This will be paid by check, not PayPal, so plan accordingly. END QUOTE.
So remember - if lots of folks give a little, every $1 you give is worth $2. We will update regularly as the fund builds so you will know when hit our goal and send everyone a receipt for anything over $50.
Maybe this is the last time I have to beg for money to save our roof - In 2003 we donated the house, land, 3 outbuildings and contents (except our bedroom set) to the cats and we rent a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen privileges from them - so not only would cats be homeless! And I am getting a bit long in the tooth to camp out!
To contribute to this cause:
PayPal to txsrc@siameserescue.org as a gift (saves fees!) please mention Refurbish Meezer Ranch in msg
Fax Credit Cards to 940 498 1771 (secure fax)
Mail checks to Siamese Rescue Alliance, P.O. Box 3088, Coppell, TX 75019
Our mortgage holder donor will match til 12/24/09! We need to get these in now!
If you want more details or info to make your decision on our worthiness, please call 940 367 7367. We are here for you and our Kitties!
We are over the top on the floor project One - got $1275 needed $1105 - now we are after the $5000 plus for the door frames, jambs, etc. PLEASE HELP!
Thanks for caring!
