Week 2 of C25K down
10/16/09 03:42 pmJust finished my second week of the Couch to 5K program. Last week I sort of did a warm-up sort of week, doing 1.5 min of walking at 2.5 mph for every 30 sec jogging at 3 mph. This week I did the actual Week 1 of the program, 1.5 min walking alternated with 1 min jogging. I kept to the same speeds (2.5 and 3 mph), which is about the limit of what I can do right now.
So the stats for this week are:
1 1/2 hours total, 34 min walking at 2.5 mph, and 26 min jogging at 3 mph. Each 30 min session opened with 5 min warming up and 5 min cooling down at the end. Today I jogged for 90 sec for the last four jogging segments. Total of 3.76 miles.
Next week I'll be walking for 2 min and jogging for 90 sec. I'm going to try to edge up the speed a little, to 3.2 mph jogging. Every 2 weeks I'll try to edge that speed up a bit, until I'm jogging at about 4 to 5 mph.
I notice my clothes fitting looser, and it seems I have some loose skin on my belly where I didn't before. NO SCALES though -- that will happen in January, when I see the doctor for my 6 month checkup and to discuss my 6 month blood work.
