Don't know if anyone else saw the CNN Faith Forum tonight, but it really disturbed me. I only watched the first hour with the three front-runners (Edwards, Obama, and Clinton), but I wondered throughout the program just WHY a news network of any stripe would be concerned with the religious and spiritual beliefs (or lack thereof) of political candidates.
Are we a theocracy now? Do we really want to have the religious right running the elections, as it seems they're already in place to do?
It's disturbing. I keep thinking of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, and realizing I'd be shipped off to the radioactive cleanup teams, since I'm not able to bear children...
