a_newchapter4me, the surly bastard, so now the inner workings of my dark and frightening mentality will be put on display for all LJ to see. Thanks.
Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 weird habits of yours" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 quirky habits as well as state this rule clearly.
1. I'm afraid of the dark. Really. There are nightlights all over the house. Nowadays I can claim the vestibulopathy as the reason, because I can't use vision in the dark to help me balance, but before that happened I had to put nightlights all over. When I stay in a hotel I leave the bathroom light on. When I visit someone I either bring a nightlight or leave the bedside lamp on. Otherwise I see things in the dark, things with great sharp claws and nasty pointed teeth.... The evil scary dwarves are the worst.
2. My favorite lying on the couch pasttime is to grab my mirror and tweezers and pluck chin hairs. My worst habit associated with this is, if the hair won't come, I tend to dig at it until I have a sore. I need to get some Zip Wax and do it right. But there is such a sense of fulfillment when that fucking little bastard finally surrenders, and releases from its follicle with a satisfying yet nearly inaudible "ploit!".....
3. I obsessively do things in groups of 5. Like I'll pet the cats 5 times, or count things in groups of 5. I insist on 5 kisses in sequence when Mike and I kiss. I do a lot of compulsive things in groups of 5. 5 crackers, 5 stirs, tapping my fingers in series of 5, and so on. I literally count in my head 1-2-3-4-5 when I'm doing these things.
4. I never sit still -- I always have a foot tapping or jiggling. (Of course in a rhythm that incorporates 5...)
5. I rock myself to sleep at night. The light goes out, I lie on my side, and I start rocking back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, until I go to sleep. This is a major reason Mike and I sleep in separate beds.
