Life Moves On...
6/9/05 08:49 amWell, we have a signed contract on our farm, got just a little less than our asking price for it. We've been looking at houses in the area for about 2 months, and yesterday we put a contract on a very nice house in Bremen, GA, not too far from Tallapoosa (where we live now). Never could find anything in Tallapoosa we could afford or liked, but this Bremen house is just right.
It's close to where our doctor is moving her practice, has a fenced yard for the dog, has a big oak tree in the front, a nice big sunny area on the side so I can have a good sized garden, lots of room to plant flowers, and a 2 car garage so I can have an Endless Pool installed (eventually). It has a huge living room/dining room area which flows into an open country kitchen, all hardwood floors so I've been shopping for my beloved oriental carpets to put in there. The bedrooms are carpeted, and it has 2 full baths downstairs, one in the master and one shared by the other two bedrooms. A fireplace in the LR and a bar in the kitchen that is extra wide so we can eat on one side of it.
But the BEST part... upstairs is a huge finished, carpeted room with a dormer window overlooking the front yard and the street. THAT's going to be MY bedroom! All it needs is a half-bath put in and I'll be in business. Also a couple of ceiling fans in place of the light fixtures.
We're supposed to close on July 19th, and we'll have 2 weeks to get moved out. I'm so excited! And Mike loves the house. I'm more than ready to leave this farm we have, the memories are too fresh and hit me everytime I look out at the yard where the horses used to graze.... It will be good for me to move on.
