Lawsuit Update

wobblerlorriWell, after almost a year, the atty we had contacted about my gentamicin case has declined to take it -- the atty he was working with in AL (where the surgeon is) didn't think it was a slam-dunk, so he didn't want to mess with it, and since AL atty didn't want to, GA atty didn't want to either.
Apparently the sticking point was that they didn't take any levels during the period I was on the gent, so they couldn't prove I got too much. Seems to me the simple fact that they didn't take any levels during the period I was on the gent would be sufficient to show negligence! Fer gods' sake, you can't monitor someone's blood levels if you DON'T FUCKING TAKE FUCKING BLOOD LEVELS!!!!

Not one to be defeated by a minor set-back, I jumped up from the dust (figuratively speaking), bit my thumb at these two shysters and shouted "Fie on thee! Fie, I say!" then found another attorney with gentamicin experience. He's based in WA, but handles cases all over the country. Right now we're waiting for the file to come to us from the cowardly shylocks so we can FedEx it to him. (Just for fun, cowards sent the file to our OLD address, even though I had changed our address with them and Mike also gave them the new address, to be sure. We found out this past Friday when GA coward called to tell us this. Fie!!)
Why are we going after this so hard, you might wonder. Why not just let it go and wait for SSD to come through. Well. I've been doing a bit o' research into settlements (just settlements, mind you) in cases like mine, involving gentamicin. The lowest one I've found was for $900,000. The highest was $2 million. That's $2,000,000. I feel that's a fair amount to compensate me for having my ability to work and pursue my life's ambition ripped from me, not to mention affecting me for the rest of my life.
Hell yes, I'm going to pursue this until my statute of limitations runs.
