Writer's Block: It's the thought that counts

[Error: unknown template qotd]When our son was a child, it was fun playing Santa Claus, setting everything up while he was asleep, getting up early to plug in the lights, then laying awake listening to him get up and find what had been left for him.

Then when he was older and Santa Claus had gone by the wayside, it was fun figuring out what he'd like, getting it, and watching his excitement when he opened his gift.

Now he's all grown up, and he's perfectly happy just getting money. My husband and I don't give each other anything. We don't give gifts to any other members of the family.

So I guess I'd say it was fun when our son was little, now, it's not a big deal.
